Yay! We made it to the courthouse last week to finalize things before we went off on our honeymoon. The court commissioner style wedding was all we could have possibly asked for.  The woman was extremely nice (probably because she was glad to sign a marriage license instead of working with the people in the jail!). Yes we got married in the building that connected to the jail.  Whatever.  It made it more special.  It took a grand total of about two minutes. She spoke briefly of the commitment we were making, then we said “I do,” then everyone signed, and we went on our way. Perfect! And the Door County justice system is so swift, we got our marriage certificate today, after only being legally married on Thursday.  Woohoo! Off to change my name tomorrow.  PS I know my outfit is silly, but I wanted to wear a white “weddingy” dress but it was cold so I had to layer my cute white dress with leggings and a sweater.

First legal kiss.

After our second wedding, we headed of to Minnesota.  Jake’s parents generously paid for two nights at a nice hotel.  We got a big suite and were able to lay around and relax.  We also got to go SHOPPING!! New dresses, TARDIS socks, Lego lunch boxes, and whatever Jake bought.  We had so much fun.  Ikea is also right next to the mall, so we got some new furniture too.  We’re suckers for Ikea if you didn’t know that.  In the evening (late – like past my bedtime) they have bingo at the hotel. Like, disco balls on the ceiling, tv screens to show music videos, and loud club music.  It was the craziest bingo I’ve ever played.  But for $6 a person, you can’t beat that for cheap entertainment.

Now we’re back home.  Settled into Green Bay.  Luckily I have a job interview next week, so we’ll see if anything pans out soon.  But for now, stay tuned for an amazing Lauren RunCraftier announcement within about a week.
