I received this gift a few months ago, but I figured I would wait until it was almost wedding time to share. My Aunt Sally sent me this over Christmas as a holiday/shower/wedding gift. I adore it.
Years ago my great-aunt, my Aunt Reggie, crocheted this doily for my Aunt Sally. It was supposed to be a tablecloth, but Aunt Reggie couldn’t see well enough to finish it. She felt bad upon giving the incomplete gift to my Aunt Sally, who said it was perfect just the way it was. I have to agree – the flawless stitching on a pineapple pattern is tough to pull off.
My Aunt Reggie passed away in 2007, so it means the world that this gift was passed on. One of my first thoughts after getting engaged was “I have to call Aunt Reggie!” At least she’ll be with us a little bit on our wedding day thanks to my Aunt Sally. This doily is going under our cake to be perfectly displayed. It may well be my favorite piece of decor at our wedding.
Thank you, Aunt Sally!

Gorgeous!!!! And I love sentimental pieces like this in weddings. <3
It’s the only sentimental piece we have and I love it.
